Firewood Stacked Up

The first face cord load of wood was burned up too fast so we got two face cords this time. Doug and I unloaded and stacked it Saturday. Its a good feeling to know we have plenty of firewood for awhile.

It took us awhile to stack it into piles hopefully we wont need to do it again this winter.

Note: A face cord or rick of wood is four feet high by eight feet long and is as wide as the individual firewood pieces, but averages 16 inches wide. A 16-inch wide face cord is equal to one-third of a full cord.

Day Out With Mom

I snapped this pic of mom getting ready to go out. She had some Dr appointments this day. I thought it was kinda unique because of the way i took the picture of the mirror so it also caught my cellphone taking a picture of itself.  might sound goofy to you reading it. but o-well. I can be goofy when I want to.

After her appointments and a little shopping we went out for lunch at Old Chicago. We took these pictures to intentionally tease Doug and Grandma. When mom and I go out for lunch we like to take pix and send them to a few people. Its a lot of fun sometimes to see their replies.

Doug responded to the pix I sent to him with a picture of his lunch an apple. It was pretty silly and gave both mom and I a smile when I received the image from him.

Fishing Acquired Taste

Doug has gone fishing with me a couple times now. I think he is starting to enjoy fishing. There are some pictures I wanted to post of the first time Doug and i went out in the boat but they seem to have been lost.

I don’t think most people understand what it really means to go fishing its something that needs to be learned. Fishing is kind of an acquired taste but once someone tastes it they cant get enough.

Taking The Boat Out Again

I am preparing the boat to go out again. Doug decided he was willing to go out in the boat with me after he finished with his eBay stuff. So These pictures are of me taking the boat to get gas and bait so that as soon as he finished we could head out.

We had a good time once we got out and the boat ran great. it did get dark pretty quick and my camera didn’t take good pix in the dark.

I asked doug to send me the pix he took while we were out. After he sends them to me i will get them published for all of you loyal viewers to view.

Watermelon Carving

This is Grandpa cutting up watermelon with the most precious Grandkids.

Oh the fun! The kids had watching and helping Grandpa cut up the watermelon.

Austin and Taylor were eating it as fast as Grandpa was carving the melon.

After all the cutting was finished Melissa, Jason, the Kids, And I enjoyed watermelon until our bellies ached.

Grandpa put all the time and effort into cutting the watermelon and he doesn’t even enjoy watermelon. He did it just for everyone else.

feb. 14th, 1991 Our Special Day

This picture was taken at Red lobster, the day we got married.

Here we are getting ready to sign our marriage license.

Ray of Sunshine

This is one of my favorite pictures, mom took it summer 2006

everyone was up at the lakes that weekend fishing, playing and working and we surprised everyone when we showed up. I remember it was a lot of fun seeing both the kids Austin and Taylor playing around the water with their little life jackets on. The kids were 2 and 3 years old they sure have grown a lot since this picture was taken.  Even though the picture is a couple years old it is still a very good memory and a day i wouldn’t mind experiencing again someday.

This was the last time doug and I were up at the lakes.
