The first face cord load of wood was burned up too fast so we got two face cords this time. Doug and I unloaded and stacked it Saturday. Its a good feeling to know we have plenty of firewood for awhile.
It took us awhile to stack it into piles hopefully we wont need to do it again this winter.
Note: A face cord or rick of wood is four feet high by eight feet long and is as wide as the individual firewood pieces, but averages 16 inches wide. A 16-inch wide face cord is equal to one-third of a full cord.

Finally Gas Prices are more reasonable. I still think gas has some room to go down further, if stocks continue to crap out. I dont mind filling my truck up anymore. Big difference from when gas was over twice as much.
Hopefully the lower gas prices will free up peoples money a little bit so they can give extra Christmas gifts and splurge a little on entertaining themselves.

Jason and I went out Friday night. Nothing exciting that I want to publish for the whole world to read. But it was a good night playing pool and bowling video games.I took a few pictures and instead of just archiving them to a forgotten place I figured I would publish them here.
Hanging out in the byron night life. LoL

Doug got me this fishy for my truck mirror. Every time I see it I am reminded that its too cold to go fishing. Wish I knew of some warm water within driving distance.
The Pit is already freezing over so dont think I will have a chance to get in any more fishing until winter is over.

A Friend Sent This to Me.
I Thought I Would Share it.

Today I decided to give up on putting the boat in the water any more until after winter. I guess because I am not expecting it to warm up enough for me to get out there in the cold. not even sure that the river wont start freezing up within the next couple weeks anyway. I might try to bundle up and cast a little in the pit from land and keep myself close to a truck that can quickly warm me up. I don’t want to imagine what it would be like to be in the boat and have the motor not start. Burrrrr
Its too dark to add any Pix.
Maybe I will take some tomorrow when I take the motor off.

I took mom to one of her MRI appointments at Summit. I wouldn’t normally post about something like this but while sitting in the waiting room I decided to take a picture to send to some friends and family. I thought the picture of mom turned out really good so here it is.

Mom really likes this butterfly that she ironed on her purple sweater. She wanted me to take a picture of it not really sure why but anyway hehe I did take the pix of it for here so I thought I would share it with all of you.

On our way home mom and I decided to give Mel a call to see if she wanted to meet us uptown for lunch. So we met and took a few more pix. It was a good time and a nice lunch. Taylor was sure full of smiles she was happy she got to sit next to her Grandma. I think we should try to do lunches like this more often.

One of my favorite fishing lures is the Johnson Sprite. I started using them a long time ago fishing at the “lakes” with family. I am not sure when exactly we started using them the Johnson Sprite is definitely my favorite spoon. They are lighter and spoon through the water with a nice wiggle. The little pink thingy that hangs between the spoon and the treble hook is very important. I figure it makes the lure appear to a fish like a bleeding or injured minnow.

Went out for a few beers and a chili contest last Saturday the 8 Th. Had some amateur live bands and a few crock pots of chili. I tried several of the pots of chili. None of them really stood out as special to me. Don’t really have a lot to say about the night just that i had a good time and it was nice crossing paths with some people i hadnt seen in several years.

I snagged this big carp / buffalo while trolling in the pit. it is a pretty sloppy and nasty fish but it was alot of fun to bring in. It pulled the boat around alot and was fun to net. Would have been nice if it had been a walleye but i guess thats just too much to ask for.
